What about 2012, have you thought about tackling weight management, strength or other sides of your fitness next year? It is that time of year again, time to start to plan next year&#8217;s personal goals, including health and fitness. </p>
<p><b>FITNESS TRENDS</b><br /> The North American College of Sports Medicine recently provided their survey results for the &#8220;Anticipated Fitness Trends of 2012&#8243;, with participation from more than 2,600 fitness pros. Fitness and weight loss options continue to stay on our minds, and several of the trends from 2011 will be going robust into next year. Nevertheless many health trends were correctly added to the list of &#8220;fadish trends&#8221; (think stuff like Thigh Pros, or the Ab Rocker). So if you aren&#39;t sure what path you need your fitness plan to follow next year, here are the fitness trends identified in the survey. </p>
<p><b>Self-development<br /></b> We continue to focus on self-improvement with no indication of that slowing, and there remain several of new trends in exercise planned to help us reach our fitness and health goals. Those fitness trends indicate the trail to improved health has plenty of new opportunities, as well as some old ones that appear like they will try for a comeback. </p>
<p><b>TRENDING UP</b></p>
<p>First, there are a pair fitness trends which are (happily) trending up </p>

<p>WHAT&#8217;S POPULAR: Boot Camp style exercise programmes continue to be well-liked, by keeping participants motivated and feeling part of a group. They work! </p>
<p>WHAT&#8217;S BAD: While we are actually wiser than we were 20 years back, many people still think the best weight loss options are found by following a low calorie diet or fad nutritional novelty, instead of integrating regular activity in the shape of an exercise program into their daily way of life.</p>
<p>MY THOUGHTS: The old proverb still applies: If you would like what you&#39;ve been getting, keep doing what you have been doing. Put an alternative way, you&#39;ve got to make changes in your way of life to see new results, no way around it. Do not forget that fitness coaches, private trainers, nutritionists and wellness coaches have great expertise to share at little cost. We do not have to collect all the information ourselves, better to leverage someone who&#8217;s done that for us. It takes more than an extremely low calorie diet to boost our health and weight. Instead , boost your physical activity, make smarter decisions about the food you consume, get correct rest and avoid stress when practicable. If exercise is part of your daily habit, the benefits come more easily If you <u>don&#8217;t</u> get deliberate and set exercise as a goal and habit, it potentially won&#39;t occur, and 2012 will look like 2011.</p>
